Broadband Optical Borehole Seismometer
The ABB is ASIR's broadband optical borehole seismometer designed for ultra-low-noise seismic monitoring in demanding environments. Using three optical interferometer accelerometers, the ABB delivers exceptional dynamic range, broadband frequency response, and excellent long-term stability for local, regional, and induced seismicity monitoring. Suitable for boreholes up to 1500 m deep, the instrument is ideal for earthquake monitoring, geothermal energy, mining, underground infrastructure, carbon storage (CCS), and scientific research. When combined with ASIR's mechanical hole-lock system, it can be installed in boreholes with diameters ranging from 95 mm to 226 mm.
